Best ever results at North Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships

The HBHS Rowing Squad has returned from the North Island Secondary Schools championships with their best ever medal haul which is all the more exceptional when we factor in that there were no Under 18 crews competing in the Under 18 events.  The Novice Double, Under 17 Eight, Under 16 Four, Novice Eight, Under 15 Eight, Under 16 Double, Under 15 Quad, Under 17 Four, Under 16 Eight, Under 15 Four and Under 15 Octuple all won gold medals in A finals, with the Under 15 Double, Under 15 Quad Second Crew and Under 15 Octuple Second Crew winning silver and the Novice Four bringing home a bronze.  In addition, the Under 17 Eight crew, of which two members are Under 16 rowers, raced in the Under 18 Eight final and won a silver medal, only missing gold by a bow ball.  These results meant that HBHS won the Derbyshire Shield for most points despite not competing in an age group or having co-ed crews.  We congratulate all of our rowers on their hard work which has resulted in such an impressive collection of results and thank all of the parents, coaches and teachers for their support which is absolutely invaluable.
