2015 Sports Awards Evening
The final awards evening of 2015 took place last Wednesday evening in a packed HBHS Hall where the Sports Awards were handed out. Captain of Sports Blair Pennell hosted the evening and reflected on another wonderful year of sporting achievements, with ten New Zealand Secondary Schools team titles and 19 individual National titles won by HBHS students. Ten of these students also represented New Zealand. The guest speaker was Beijing Olympics Ambassador and sole New Zealand Torchbearer Aaron Fleming who held the audience utterly transfixed as he told of his extraordinary journey from suffering a collapsed lung four times as a teenager to successfully completing multiple iron man events to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis sufferers. We present the list of major award winners and have attached all of the individual code winners and nominees for the major awards. All are worthy and we congratulate all of our athletes on their outstanding achievements, along with all of the parents, teachers and supporters who helped them to get there.
