2011 Year 9 Father/Son Breakfast

‘My Father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.’   Clarence Budington Kelland

HBHS hosted the annual Year 9 Father/Son breakfast this morning. Several hundred of our newest students and their fathers, male care-givers or mentors were welcomed by Mrs Hassall and Rahiti Teokotai-White at 7.00am. Soumil Singh said grace, and then the prefects served the meal.

Aidan Clarkin-Rush introduced Aled de Malmanche and Scott McLeod, who both spoke on their personal experiences, and reflected on their time at HBHS. Patrick Costley thanked the men, and then Mr Hotham directed a question and answer session. Special guests who attended this morning included Old Boys Dwayne Sweeney, Aled de Malmanche, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Save Tokula, Toby Smith and Scott McLeod. Music was provided by Josef Meek (Guitar), Rowan Volkwyn (Piano), Daniel Ng (Cello), Cullen Taylor (Guitar) and Alex Carlton-Thomas (Vocals).

We thank Blake’s Hire Services, the Hamilton Boys’ High School Parents Association, the catering staff of Argyle House – Joan Fagan and her wonderful team – and all of the parents who helped to make this morning possible.

All students will be able to access and save Father/Son Breakfast photos from ‘Student Pickup’ on the HBHS computer system shortly.
