1st XI Football Team win Referees Cup
The HBHS 1st XI kicked off their season in fine style last Saturday by winning the Referees Cup tournament held at St Peter's School in Cambridge. The first match was a comprehensive 8 - 0 win over Matamata College, with Lachie McIsaac scoring a hat-trick, Alex Frank netting two goals and Liam Hayes, Flynn O"Brien and Logan Stewart scoring one a-piece. Game two was a much tighter affair with the 1st XI beating the HBHS 2nd XI 2 - 0. Alex Frank and Stafford Dowling were the goal-scorers. The team then met Cambridge High School and came away with a 5 - 1 win. Donovan Latham got two goals and Reuben Henderson and Logan Stewart were the other goal scorers. In the final HBHS came up against St John's College, and as is befitting of a final, the match was very tight. Lachie McIsaac was the lone goal-scorer giving HBHS the 1 - 0 win. Congratulations to the team on their winning start and thanks and congratulations to coaches Mr Paul Nixon and Mr Aaron Scott for their continued support of HBHS football.
