1st VX Haka for the V8s

On Sunday 17 April, The HBHS Rugby 1st XV performed a haka at the V8 races which was broadcast live to five hundred million people.  The team were understandably nervous beforehand, but performed with aplomb.

The boys will defend the Sanix World Rugby Youth Cup in Japan from April 27 to May 6.  At least fifty 1st XV prospective players began preparing for this competition in November 2010.  The gruelling training schedule, and extra responsibilities many team members take on have meant their mettle has been well and truly tested.

This will be the third time that we have fielded a team in this particular competition, and all eyes will be on HBHS' progress, given last year's emphatic wins.  We will recieve regular updates from the team about their progress, which will be posted on this website.  We wish the boys a safe and rewarding journey - to have come this far is a significant achievement in itself.
