HBHS Gully Request for Native Grasses (Carex) etc

Over the last few years a significant amount of gully restoration work has taken place in the Hamilton Boys’ High School Gully in order to transform it into a haven for native plants and wildlife.

At the moment we are trying to source native grasses (carex) to cover new cleared areas in the gully. If you are able to donate some carex could you please bring them through the Argyle entrance and place them outside the Grounds and Maintenance Workshop, just past Argyle House.

We have gully restoration working bees with student volunteers about every 2 weeks to plant new native species and keep the weeds at bay.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding plants you may be able to provide, please direct them to mkirkby@hbhs.school.nz

Thank you
