Job Opportunities

Great cadetship opportunity for students who enjoy Graphics. You will draw/design/create in a civil engineering context.

GAP Year -  Opportunity to earn money

IRD are looking for school leavers to fulfil a year-long contract.  They are based in Te Rapa and handle customer queries.

If you are interested go to the Careers office (SSC) at lunchtime on Mon 11th September.

Apprenticeships Available

There are currently apprenticeships available in the following industries. Students can combine school with a work placement, to see if it will be the right ‘fit’. A drivers licence is required for most.

  • Diesel Mechanic – Waikato Tractors
  • Plumbing
  • Engineering – welding
  • Engineering – general
  • Flooring
  • Painting
  • Collision repair and refinishing
  • Shower installation – this is not an apprenticeship

Scholarship Closing Dates

Victoria University, general scholarships – September 15th 

Victoria have just announced two rugby scholarships, (one for Pasifika) and one other. They are looking for an academically capable student who has an above average rugby ability, with the potential to play representative rugby at a senior level. The financial circumstances of applicants will be taken into consideration by the selection committee.
